David Lackner focuses on commercializing nanotechnology produced by NASA Ames Research Center. Prior to joining the Commercial Technology Office at Ames, David held positions with NASA at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and with United Space Alliance at the Johnson Space Center. David's technical experience includes advanced spacecraft systems development as well as Space Shuttle mission operations and International Space Station testing. Mr. Lackner also specialized in the application of quantitative tools to assess advanced technology deployment processes with the Technology Management and Commercialization Group of Stanford Research Institute Consulting. There, he performed a variety of analyses for the telecommunications, energy, and e-commerce industries.
Mr. Lackner holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a M.S. in Technology, Management and Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. At MIT, David researched technology planning and selection with the Center for Technology Policy and Industrial Development (CTPID), and wrote his thesis on technology investment strategies with the International Center for Research and Management of Technology (ICRMOT).
