Kevin Lalande joined Austin Ventures in 2001 and focuses on the firm's Communications investment area. He also actively evaluates investments in the emerging nanotechnology sector, and is one of the founding members of the Texas Nanotechnology Initiative (www.texasnano.com)
Prior to joining AV, Kevin co-founded and sold three Internet-based startups: NetProfit, which was sold to a privately held advertising agency in 1996; Serus, which was sold to Netopia (Nasdaq: NTPA) in 1998; and TimeMarker, which was sold to PrimeHoldings (OTCBB: PRIM) in 2001.
Mr. Lalande also spent two years as an analyst in the Dallas and Milan offices of McKinsey & Company, where he served clients in the communications and computer hardware industries. He holds a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering with honors from Brigham Young University and an MBA with high distinction (Baker Scholar) from the Harvard Business School.
