Evan Harrison
Vice President and General Manager, AOL Music
America Online, Inc.

Evan Harrison is Vice President and General Manager for AOL Music, where he is responsible for all music related programming and content across the AOL network and its web properties.

As General Manager of AOL Music, Mr. Harrison oversees the number one online music destination with more than 15 million unique visitors per month. Through innovative programming initiatives including First Listen and First View, AOL Music has become the leading outlet for today's top artists to debut their songs and videos. Mr. Harrison is responsible for helping extend many of AOL Music's successful programming offerings and franchises to AOL Entertainment's other properties, which include Games, Movies, Music, Radio, Sports, Television and Ticketing.

Previously, Mr. Harrison was the Executive Director of Music Industry Relations for the group, focused on extending the reach of music into the online space by creating innovative ways to maximize artists’ connection with a vast and growing audience of consumers who discover, experience and buy music on the Internet. In that role, he managed the group’s day-to-day operations, working with AOL’s more than 90 record labels, artists and manager partners to create a compelling music experience across AOL’s leading music properties.

Prior to joining AOL in July of 2001, Mr. Harrison worked at BMG Entertainment in distribution and, most recently, in the Corporate Marketing Group as Senior Director of the Online Marketing department, which he started in 1999. He oversaw BMG's online marketing activities, and helped form partnerships in an effort to deliver BMG artists to a mass audience online with companies including AOL, Yahoo, Lycos, Egreetings/American Greetings, BET.com, Collegeclub, RealNetworks and PlanetOut among others. Mr. Harrison also helped launch BMG's own Click2Music.com site, which reached an audience of 1M unique visitors per month, according to Media Metrix.

Prior to joining BMG in 1993, Mr. Harrison worked in Advertising Sales at the San Francisco Bay Guardian Newspaper. He started in the music industry in 1987, working at Sam Goody.
