Daniel Porter

BeMusic
Based in New York, Porter is charged with developing and expanding new
businesses strategies for the company.
Prior to joining BeMusic, Porter was an independent consultant specializing
in new business development for technology and entertainment companies. His
clients included Tu Casa, a diversified Latin entertainment company, as well
as a number of clients in the educational technology sector.
From 2001 - 2002, Porter was the President of Speedle, a venture funded
company focusing on universal authentication technology. Prior to that, he
was the President and COO of Ticketweb, the first company to develop
internet-enabled ticketing transaction technology and the first to sell
event tickets online. He was instrumental in growing the company from three
people to a staff of over seventy people and negotiated a successful sale of
the business to Ticketmaster-Citysearch for $32.5 million in 2000.
Porter has held a variety of positions in the technology, entertainment and
educational fields. He has been an investment banker focusing on M&A and
private placements; President of Teach for America, a national non-profit
organization serving public schools; and a high school teacher in the New
York City public schools in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
