From 1996 until 2001, he served in the Business Affairs and Law Departments of Sony Music, most recently with the new media ventures group, 550 Digital Media Ventures. From 2001 until 2004, he worked for talent representation law firms, most recently King Holmes Paterno & Berliner, where he represented firm clients such as Dr Dre, Metallica, Beck & The Offpsring.
