| Piyush is a leading expert in advanced speech processing technologies, related platforms and applications. In his previous assignment at AT&T he built an engineering team to develop innovative speech technologies, created a laboratory to research and define future speech applications, and built a platform to deploy the world's first speech recognition system that understands spoken natural language; it is being used today for customer care over the AT&T telephone network. In such roles, he has spent more than a decade championing the development and adoption of automatic speech recognition (ASR) and text-to-speech (TTS) technologies and applications throughout AT&T. Piyush holds several patents and has served on a variety of speech processing related industry standards committees. Piyush earned his Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering at Rutgers University and his master's degree in computer science at the University of Tennessee. He received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the Institute of Technology at Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi, India. |
