Derek Pilling is actively involved in the due diligence, investment selection and value creation activities of the firm. Previously, he was vice president at netLibrary, Inc., a Boulder, Colorado-based venture-backed company, where he was group manager of a 30-person division. In addition, his responsibilities at netLibrary
included strategic development activities, including the negotiation and implementation of strategic alliances and acquisitions. Prior to his work at netLibrary, Mr. Pilling advised technology and other clients in sell-side merger and acquisition and fundraising transactions at The Wallach Company, a Denver boutique investment bank. Mr. Pilling is a graduate of Indiana University’s Undergraduate School of Business, with a degree in Finance. He graduated from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in 2003 and was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma for high academic achievement.
