Escalon Networks manufactures a product family of gateways that manage and secure visitor based wireless networks, such as hotels, airports, and convention centers. We give guests with wireless laptops high-speed access to the Internet, with optional 128-bit security, and provide facility employees, using wireless laptops and PDAs for internal communications, with 128-bit security that is easy to use and support.
An Escalon gateway is between a facility's Access Points and it's backbone network, acting as a secure gateway between wireless and wired LANs. A single box solution that can scale to support a hundred 802.11b APs, it handles guest laptops with arbitrary network settings, lets VPNs pass through to external corporate networks, enforces PMS or credit card billing, and controls their Wi-Fi bandwidth usage. It secures employee communications piggybacking on the facility's wireless network for point-of-sale, curbside check in, housekeeping and engineering.
From small hotels, to airports, convention centers and large hotels, the Escalon gateways reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) of wireless LANs while maximizing their benefits.
