Yogesh Gupta is the chief technology officer (CTO) for CA and is responsible for defining the strategy and direction of CA's software solutions. Under his leadership, the Office of the CTO manages technology and research initiatives, cultivating CA's growing intellectual property portfolio, much of which is protected by U.S. and international patents. The Office of the CTO also partners with universities and research institutions on innovative technologies and actively participates in standards organizations. Current areas of research include pervasive computing, information as a utility, wireless technologies and Web services.
Previously, Yogesh served as senior vice president of CA's eBusiness strategy and was pivotal to the successful evolution of CA as the world's leading provider of eBusiness management solutions. Yogesh joined CA in 1989 upon its acquisition of Cullinet Software, Inc. and has held a variety of senior management positions in development, marketing and planning. He was instrumental in the launch and marketing of Unicenter, CA's award-winning family of eBusiness infrastructure management solutions.
Earlier, Yogesh developed distributed database products at a start-up technology firm and at Burroughs Corporation.
Born in India, Yogesh received a bachelor's degree in electronic engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras and a master's degree in computer science from the University of Wisconsin.
