As part of CSG Systems Strategic Initiatives Group, Gregory Opie is responsible for the research and analysis of opportunities related to mobile, wireless, and IP services, including: WLAN, 3G mobile technologies, content and commerce, and IPDR settlements.
Mr. Opie has been involved in billing and customer care software design and development for mobile communications providers since 1987. He has extensive experience with both GSM and IS-41 operators in Europe, North America, and Latin America; including five years residency in Europe during the initial rollout of GSM networks and support systems. As part of a systems integration company, Mr. Opie had the opportunity to be a key member of the development and implementation teams for early successful mobile operators in California, USA and Germany. Mr. Opie has also been involved with other customer care and billing projects for operators in Europe and Latin America. In 1997, with the shift towards product focused software allowing operators reduced costs and implementation timeframes, Mr. Opie joined Kenan Systems to provide product centric solutions and their advantages to mobile operators and convergent carriers offering mobile services. At Kenan Systems and later CSG Systems, Mr. Opie managed global teams of systems analysts responsible for analysis and design of product features for the mobile and wireless industry.
Mr. Opie completed a B.S. in Information Systems from the University of Colorado and is currently working on an MS in Information Systems.
