As Director of MIS for the San Francisco Giants, John Winborn oversees all network, telecom, and desktop operations. Winborn oversees a staff that is deadicated to providing professional, responsive customer service while developing, implementing and supporting innovative IT solutions that enable the attainment of the Giants' strategic objectives.
Prior to joining the Giants in 1999, Winborn oversaw Guest Services at the Cotton Bowl for the 1994 World Cup. He also served as an Assistant Venue Manager at the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. He was responsible for all front of house operations at the Wolf Creek Olympic Venue. From 1997 to 1999, Winborn worked as a Project Manager in the MIS Department for Dallas based Banctec.
In the summer of 2004, Winborn took a leave from the Giants to work for the Athens Olympic Organizing Committe. Winborn assisted the Venue Technology Manager with projects related to facility fit up and day to day operations. Winborn also served on the technology committee for the San Francisco 2012 Olympic Bid and is an active member of the Host Committee for the NCAA Football Emerald Bowl.
